Message to the media from Amitabh Agnihotri, National President of the Editors Club of India.

Dear Colleagues,

This is not just an organization—it is a mission, a movement that wants to bring the highest standards of media. Being a part of this club is not merely an honor; it is a profound responsibility. And we will fulfill this responsibility with complete truthfulness and dedication.

The history of journalism has always been about fighting for the truth. As editors, we need to step up our game even more now that there are problems coming from all sides, whether they are political, social, or media-related. We need to remember that journalism is more than just a job; it's a powerful way to help society move in the right direction and bring its problems to light

The objective of the Editors Club of India is to not only safeguard journalism through our collective efforts but to elevate it to new heights. We will not only strive to speak the truth, but to present it boldly and powerfully—especially the truths that are often hidden from public view. We will become the voice of every section of society, work on issues that are frequently ignored, and above all, ensure that the clarion call of journalism never stops, never fades.

Our organization will serve as a platform where editors and journalists from across the country can exchange ideas, learn from one another, and most importantly, empower each other.  This club is a family that has come together to defend journalism, not just a network. We will strive to create journalism that is fair to all segments of society, dedicated to its fundamental principles, and prioritizes media independence and objectivity.

Our path may be difficult, and we may face pressure time and again, but we must never forget that the path we walk is the path of truth. We must remember that the more difficult a truth is, the more powerful it becomes. Together, we will prove this.

Our aim is not limited to strengthening journalism alone. We want every editor to realize their own strength and their power to influence the direction of society. We can overcome any obstacle when we band together because this club is more than just an organization; it's a movement and an idea.

Let us come together to give journalism a new direction and build a media that not only informs society but also empowers it.
