Indian journalism is going through a phase of deep public distrust and a severe crisis of credibility. Becoming part of the club is not merely about membership—it is an active commitment to the mission of restoring the credibility, ethical values, and constitutional role of the Indian media. It represents a convergence of responsibility, prestige, and national interest.
Join NowWhy Join ECI?
Because today, the greatest battle of journalism cannot be fought alone.
Every editor faces pressure on a daily basis—political interference, corporate influence, fake narratives, and legal risks. An editor standing alone remains vulnerable, but a united front of editors not only challenges such pressures, it also has the strength to stop them.
The Editors’ Club of India is a platform where editors are not merely part of a profession - they become guardians of their rights, dignity, and editorial independence.
This membership is not just a card; it is an entry into a national force that stands firmly to protect
the credibility, honour, and freedom of journalism in the country.
About Editors Club Of India
The Editors’ Club of India has been founded with the firm belief that independent, fearless, and responsible journalism is the true strength of any democracy. This platform represents the collective conscience of editors who place journalism closer to truth than to power.
Our vision is clear—journalism is neither a tool of propaganda nor a medium for personal agendas. It
is a disciplined practice of constitutional responsibility, public interest, and professional judgment.
The Editors' Club of India exists to strengthen and uphold that discipline.
This organization safeguards editorial independence, while never separating it from propriety, facts,
and accountability. Our objective is to foster a media environment where asking questions is not a
crime, speaking the truth does not become a risk, and the value of journalism is measured not by
popularity, but by credibility.
The Editors' Club of India seeks to guide the journalism of the future toward a direction where
oversight of power, accountability to the public, and loyalty to the Constitutionare not opposing forces, but complementary principles.
This is our vision.
This is our commitment.
