New Delhi: Strengthening its Advisory Wing further, the Editors Club of India has made a significant announcement. During a grand event held at the India International Centre, New Delhi, National President Amitabh Agnihotri declared the nomination of Mahendra Modi, a retired IPS officer of the 1986 batch (Uttar Pradesh cadre) and former DG (Special Inquiry), as a member of the Advisory Wing. Senior office bearers of the club extended a warm welcome to him on this occasion.
Mahendra Modi is counted among those distinguished administrators who have not only excelled in their official responsibilities but have also made notable contributions to society. He is especially known as “Jal Guru” for his innovative work in water conservation and rainwater harvesting.

His contributions to water conservation have been recognized at the national level. He was honored with the prestigious National Water Award in 2019, and in 2020, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, also acknowledged his outstanding work.
National General Secretary Dr. Sunil Kaushik stated that the inclusion of an experienced, sensitive, and socially committed personality like Mahendra Modi in the Advisory Wing is a matter of great pride for the Editors Club of India. He added that Modi’s experience and vision will not only strengthen the organization but also provide meaningful guidance in bringing positive social change through journalism.
